High quality Springfield Gardens development announced.

Place making developer, Step Places have announced plans for a new mixed scheme of houses and apartments, combined with a crèche, gym and a small food and beverage retail offer. The schemes landscaping integrates into the exciting plans for Springfield Park, which will be built on a six-acre plot of brownfield land, previously part of the old Alder Hey Hospital.

Our proposals will provide new homes for NHS key workers, specialist accommodation for children and their families who are being treated at Alder Hey hospital, and office accommodation that meets the corporate, research and medical requirements of the Hospital. The new facilities also include purpose built homes for young people with autism, enabling them to live independently within the community, a crèche, a gym and a retail offer that will complement the local provision and meet the needs of the local community.

Harinder Dhaliwal, Managing Director of Step Places, said: “It is Step Place’s intention to create an exciting community and environmentally led scheme that has a prominent health theme running throughout each individual aspect of the scheme. Step Places have been working closely with the Hospital Trust to ensure that the new campus style development complements the plans for Springfield Park and the healthcare campus. In the coming weeks, we plan to start our consultation and engagement activities with the local community. It is Step Places primary objective to ensure that all local residents and stakeholders have a voice on the development. Therefore, we have developed an inclusive approach and a variety of consultation methods that ensure that this objective is achieved.

“We are looking forward to working with residents, Alder Hey Hospital and Liverpool City Council to deliver a ground breaking scheme for the city of Liverpool and an exemplar scheme for the North of England that we can all be proud of. The new development will be ready by the end of 2022.”
